A lot going on!
I have had a hard time finding time to write a post for the website because it has been so wonderfully busy lately. On any given day, I feel both overwhelmed by the amount of work to be done and overjoyed at the smiles on the faces of kids on horses and the moments of healing for clients. This is the vision I had….people interacting with horses in empowering and healing ways. I still remember very vividly the picture that came into my head as I was driving from Cody, Wyoming to Denver for a work meeting at the time I was wrestling with a career change. In my mind, I saw people coming to a year-round facility to have powerful experiences with horses. I saw clients coming for equine-assisted psychotherapy, kids coming to ride, wellness workshops with the horses and even riding clinics in which I could improve my riding skills which continues to be personal goal for me. So here it is…it’s happening! In the past month, we have had an afterschool horse program for middle school children, a Horses 101 class for 8-11 year olds, a busy client schedule, a dressage clinic and more is on the way. In July we will offer a women’s wellness workshop and a communication and relationship skills class for teenage girls…all with the help of the horses of course. Apparently dreams do come true.
